Cancellation & Refund Policy

How MyFinancialAdvisory handles cancellation requests, completed work and approved refunds.

Effective date:

Last updated:

MFA aims to handle cancellations and refunds fairly, transparently and in accordance with applicable law.

1. Cancellation before work begins

If you request cancellation before substantive work on a service has begun, the unutilised professional/service fee will ordinarily be eligible for refund.

Any government, statutory or third-party amount that has already been paid or irreversibly incurred may be excluded from the refundable amount.

2. Cancellation after work begins

If substantive work has already been performed, MFA may retain the reasonable portion of the professional/service fee attributable to work already completed.

Any remaining unperformed portion will be assessed fairly based on the actual stage of the engagement.

MFA will not impose an arbitrary cancellation penalty.

3. After filing or submission

Once an application, return, form or other filing has been submitted to a government authority, regulator or third party, cancellation of that external process may no longer be possible.

Professional fees for work already completed and submitted may not be refundable to the extent permitted by law.

Government/statutory charges are subject to the refund rules of the relevant authority.

4. Completed services

Where the contracted service has been substantially completed or the agreed deliverable has been provided, the fee attributable to that completed work is ordinarily non-refundable, subject to applicable consumer rights.

5. Rejection or adverse government decision

A government, regulator or authority may reject, object to, delay or request clarification on an application.

Such an outcome does not automatically create a refund right where MFA has correctly performed the purchased service.

If a material error attributable to MFA causes a deficiency in the contracted service, MFA will assess an appropriate corrective action, re-performance or refund for the affected portion, subject to applicable law and the circumstances.

6. MFA cancellation or inability to perform

If MFA cancels a service or confirms that it cannot provide a material part of the agreed service for reasons attributable to MFA, the professional fee attributable to the undelivered portion will be refunded.

Any third-party/statutory amount that can be recovered will also be returned when received/recovered.

7. Duplicate payments

Confirmed duplicate payments will be refunded or adjusted in full for the duplicated amount.

8. How to request cancellation/refund

Send the request from the registered/billing email or through the customer support channel and provide:

  • customer/business name;
  • service/order/invoice reference;
  • reason for request;
  • payment reference where applicable.

9. Refund assessment

MFA may verify:

  • payment status;
  • work completed;
  • filing/submission status;
  • government or third-party charges incurred;
  • applicable statutory requirements.

We will communicate the outcome of the request.

10. Refund timing

Once a refund is accepted, MFA will aim to initiate the approved refund within 7 business days.

The time for funds to appear in the customer’s account may additionally depend on the bank, card network, UPI provider or payment gateway.

11. Original payment method

Where technically and legally possible, refunds will be returned through the original payment method.

Alternative arrangements may be used where the original route is unavailable and appropriate verification has been completed.

12. Statutory rights

Nothing in this Policy limits any refund, remedy or consumer right that must be provided under applicable law.
