Overview
What is BIS Registration (ISI / CRS)?
BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) is India's national standards body, and for many products its certification is mandatory before they can be sold. There are different schemes: the ISI Mark scheme (ISI-mark certification for notified products, e.g. many industrial and consumer goods), the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) for notified electronics and IT products, and the Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS) for overseas manufacturers.
All schemes involve testing the product against the relevant Indian Standard in a BIS-recognised laboratory, plus an application (and, for ISI, often factory assessment). Selling a notified product without BIS certification is an offence.
We identify which BIS scheme and standard apply to your product, coordinate the lab testing, and file your BIS application end to end.

- Services (BIS certifies products)

How the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) portals (Manak Online / CRS) flow works
BIS certification runs through the BIS online systems for the relevant scheme, with product testing in BIS-recognised laboratories, document submission, and (for ISI) factory assessment before the licence/registration is granted.
We prepare, file and follow up through the official BIS systems and coordinate testing. We never claim a private API or guaranteed grant — certification and testing outcomes rest with BIS and the recognised labs.

FAQs
BIS Registration (ISI / CRS) — frequently asked questions
What is BIS registration?
Certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards that a product meets the relevant Indian Standard. For many notified products it's mandatory before they can be sold in India.
What's the difference between ISI and CRS?
The ISI mark scheme covers many notified goods (often with factory assessment); the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) covers notified electronics and IT products. We identify which applies.
What is FMCS?
The Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme, through which overseas manufacturers obtain BIS certification to sell in India, via an Authorised Indian Representative.
Is product testing required?
Yes — the product is tested against the applicable Indian Standard in a BIS-recognised laboratory as part of certification. We coordinate it.
How long does BIS certification take?
It depends on the scheme, testing time and (for ISI) factory assessment — typically several weeks to a few months. Outcomes rest with BIS and the labs.
What happens if I sell without BIS for a notified product?
It's an offence under the BIS Act, with penalties. Notified products must be certified before sale, so we map your obligation first.
Does BIS certification need renewal?
Yes — BIS licences/registrations have a validity period and renewal cycle. We track and renew them.
